Photovoltaic installations have a positive energy balance. The energy used in the manufacture of a solar installation is paid back after approximately three to five years, depending on the quality, design and manufacturer. With an average service life of 20 to 25 years – which is guaranteed by the manufacturers – the energy balance is clearly a positive one.
